Navigating Crossroads: Decisions, Entrepreneurship, and the Pursuit of Financial Freedom

A Chronicle of Transitions, Entrepreneurial Endeavors, and the Quest for a Balanced Life

Ghost of Complacency Haunting Me

Introduction
The beginning of January marked a crucial juncture in my academic journey as I engaged in a thought-provoking discussion with the dean of the Business department. The topic of conversation: the possibility of transferring from the internship program to a more conventional one, a route that promised a Bachelor's degree but at a considerable cost. As I delved into the numbers, a stark reality unfolded—twice the tuition fee and the necessity of working the maximum allowed hours per week to bridge the financial gap.

The Dilemma

Upon meticulous calculations using Excel, a disheartening revelation emerged. The financial strain would not only deplete my net worth by the end of the semester but also impose the burden of perpetual part-time work, hindering my ability to take credits and graduate on time. The prospect of paying money continuously without a clear path to graduation led me to reconsider my decision.

A Pivot in Plans
Faced with this data, I made the challenging decision to cancel my transferring program. The pursuit of a traditional degree, while appealing, proved financially untenable, forcing me to reevaluate my options.

Entrepreneurial Aspirations
In this reevaluation, the beacon of entrepreneurship beckoned. Embracing the non-graduate but affordable internship program, I set my sights on an unconventional path—dropshipping. The allure of selling online became a beacon of hope, offering the promise of financial independence and the freedom to savor the remaining year and a half in Taiwan.

Teaching Ventures
Balancing the entrepreneurial dream, I opted to amplify my commitment to teaching. While Sishu Elementary held a cherished place in my heart, I also embraced the challenges of Singgong, recognizing that growth often stems from navigating discomfort.

New Toys for the Journey
Amidst these transitions, I made a practical investment—a Marco Air Fryer, acquired for 600 bucks. A small addition to my daily life that symbolizes both practicality and the start of a new chapter.

Conclusion
As I navigate this intricate web of decisions, the path ahead may seem uncertain, but it's also rife with opportunities. The entrepreneurial spirit, coupled with a dedication to teaching and a keen eye for financial prudence, becomes my compass. In this journey, where each choice is a stepping stone, I embrace the challenges with the optimism that they bring—the promise of growth, independence, and a life well-lived.
